Techniques/Modalities Utilized for Pain Relief

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)

Neuromuscular therapy is used to examine the soft tissues of the body and to evaluate their involvement in acute injuries, chronic pain patterns or dysfunctional patterns of use. NMT has as its base, a series of protocols or routines that examine the muscles, tendons and ligaments (soft tissues) of a partiacular body region.

NMT routines systematically examine the muscles and joints with an aim to discover taut bands within the muscles, evaluate and improve range of motion (ROM), check for pain upon movement and ability to perform at normal expectations and uncover dysfunctional patterns of muscle behavior.

NMT treatment often successfully reduces or eliminates common pain patterns such as aching in the head, back and neck. Neuromuscular therapy is investigative, inquisitive and analytical.

Amino Neuro Frequency (ANF) Therapy

Amino Neuro Frequency (ANF) Therapy is a revolutionary holistic approach to pain and inflammation.
Based on the ANF Therapy framework, we examine the body following the nerve paths and focus on finding the root cause of the patient's problem.  According to the findings and related dianosis, we apply a unique medical device, the ANF discs, in order to reduce pain, remove inflammation and prevent it from spreading via the nervous and lymphatic systems.  The therapy is a combination of clinical examination technique, diagnostic methodology, treatment with ANF discs and manual therapy.

How does ANF Therapy work?
It uses a combination of frequency emitting wearable devices, the ANF discs.  Each disc is applied directly on the skin and activated by the body heat.  They transmit a unique range of frequencies through the neurons in the body.  The nervous system picks up these frequencies, starting a self-healing and self-regulating process.  By improving the nervous system signaling directly at the cellular level, the effct of the treatment is much faster and has remarkable durable results.  The ANF Therapy does not require the use of any drugs or chemicals.  There is no evidence that discs may compromise the effectiveness of any prescribed medication.

Primal Reflex Release Technique (PRRT)

Primal Reflex Release Technique is a treatment approach in the field of pain treatment and management.

John Iams, P.T., developed PRRT from nearly four decades of clinical experience and research. PRRT is a systematic approach to the evaluation and treatment of primal reflexes which may become over-stimulated, keeping painful pain patterns active. According to Iams, the treatment of these primal reflexes is effective in treating 80% of people that have painful conditions. The primal reflexes, such as the startle reflex, the withdrawal reflex and the protective joint reflexes are the root of all sustained painful conditions. These reflexes are hard-wired into the Nervous System. When someone is in pain, these reflexes are called upon to protect the body. The purpose of PRRT is to identify the "up-regulation" of the ANS and the reflexes and to "down-regulate" the motor component of the ANS and reflexes. This "down-regulation" means quieting of the Nervous System, giving a relaxation of the musculoskeletal system. This results in decreased guarding, splinting, muscle tone and pain.

Spinal Reflex Analysis (SRA)

Spinal Reflex Analysis was developed by Dr. Frank Jarrell of the Spinal Reflex Institute, International. SRA is a system to address the most prevalent cause of neuromusculoskeletal pain and dysfunction, the Axial Spinal Reflex (ASR).

SRA assessment is the identification and treatment of soft tissue contractures originating from the spinal reflex arc of the involved spinal segment and is treated by soft tissue and hard tissue procedures. Treatment arrests the spinal reflex syndrome and enhances physical health and sports performance.

An ASR is a primary cause of myofascial pain and dysfunction; prolonged muscle and ligament systems throughout the body and creates a comprehensive reduction in unnecessary muscle tone and spasms created in and perpetuated by the Axial Spinal Reflex. What are ASR's? Axal Spinal Reflexes are hard wired into our nervous system at our very core. No aspect of our physical body can bypass this basic pathway (the spine) or remain unaffected by these fundamental reflex reactions. These reflexes orginiated as a defense mechanism, contracting specific patterns of muscle fibers instantaneously to move our bodies out of danger and into position to defend ourselves. An example: someone throws cold water on your back on a hot summer day and your back arches instantly away from the water, your head and arms turn toward the source as your body begins to move away so as to see and defend! ASR's are automatic reflexes that can remain active indefinitely.

Whelton Myofascial Referral Technique

Whelton Myofascial Referral Technique is based on Dr. Whelton's identification of how the body connects in a very precise way.  Every millimeter of the body has direct connections to other areas of the body.  Points are stimulated with exact patient positioning and exact angles of pressure that Dr Whelton has outlined.  When these connections are acheived in an effort to affect an injury or painful area on another part of the body the results are often remarkable.

Pain Neutralization Technique (P.N.T.)

P.N.T. shuts off a patient's tenderness from trigger points by utilizing neuromuscular reflexes. The goal of P.N.T. isn't to manage trigger points by applying pressure on them or utilizing mechanical force to manage the trigger points as do other systems, but applies neurological reflexes to switch them off.

Neuro Kinetic Therapy (NKT)

NKT is founded on Motor Control Theory (The Neural Basis of Motor Control by Vernon Brooks). The Motor Control Center (MCC) located in the cerebellum receives information from the limbic system ("fill my needs") and then the cerebral cortex ("take this route") before passing information to the spine ("do it") and the musculoskeletal system ("doing it"). The MCC is stimulated by a muscle or function failure.

NKT process is based on a chiropractic technique called Applied Kinesiology, and the Touch for Health approach to holistic wellness. The practitioner uses muscle testing to gauge the body's reaction to various substances, ideas, etc. This testing may reveal that the client's body could be out of sync or that some muscles are working overtime to compensate for weaker muscles that are not functioning fully. This is called a compensation pattern. Since the body has no way to let go of compensation patterns that are no longer needed the muscles become overworked, creating muscular tension. NKT is the process of relaxing the muscle through massage and stretching allowing the formerly weak muscle to fire cleanly. The pain relief restores function and changes to the body that can be extraordinary.

Self-Controlling Energy Neuro-Adapting Regulator (SCENAR)

SCENAR energy turns on the brain to do what it should do - heal the body. The device automatically computes the disordered energy, sends back healing impulses to the brain, and beeps when the treatment cycle is complete. When used as an electro acupuncture therapy, signals are delivered more precisely to target tissues. The SCENAR is able to detect minute electric impulses of the meridian system as well as the peripheral nervous system. While regulating unbalanced body systems, SCENAR normalizes pathological conditions. There is no negative impact and the effect remains for a long time after treatment is applied. One of the most valuable effects of SCENAR is that it eliminates stress reactions and stimulates health-improving reactions that promote self-recovery.

Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT)

A bio-mechanically-based system that dramatically improves functional capabilities in people of all age agroups, providing a pain free life style along with elevating sports performance and promoting career longevity in several professional athletes. MAT provides the ability for the body to function the way it was designed. In the body, when the message is sent from the brain, the input is transferred through the nerves to the muscles creating muscle contraction. Each muscle is independently innervated. Muscles that have improper neurological connections are identified, then jumpstarted; creating the ability for the muscles to stabilize the joints and reduce joint stresses.

Facilitated Pathways Intervention (FPI)

Facilitated Pathways Intervention was developed as a gentle spreading/stretching technique. The therapy is directed towards the release of "tension" in layers of soft tissue in specified zones on the head and neck.

FPI is an innovative soft-tissue therapy. It is effective in resolving both specific and widespread neuromusculoskeletal dysfunctions throughout the body, whether the etiology is repetitive motion, trauma or chronic pain from other causes. FPI therapy is performed on specific superficial tissues of the head, neck and clavicle to reduce pain and improve movement and functional capabilities in specific somatic areas. Treatment is usually comfortable and relaxing, and appropriate for almost all patients, in any age group.

FPI provides very effective treatment for a wide variety of conditions. It can reduce or eliminate carpal tunnel symptoms, tennis elbow and many other joint and muscle pains. Regardless of the etiology of their discomfort most patients begin reporting a reduction in their symptoms after their first or second session. The benefits are cumulative, and patients usually enjoy additional improvements with each treatment.
